What Is The Planner's Vault? (And Why I Said Yes to Leading It)
Hello friend,
What Is The Planner's Vault?
If you've been around Planner Life for a while, you've heard me say it for years: planners need consistency.
Consistent education. Consistent resources. Consistent connection with people who understand this business. Not a course you finish and file away, not a workshop high that fades by Monday — an ongoing place to learn, ask, connect, and grow, in every season of your business.
That's exactly what The Planner's Vault is. And as of this month, I have the joy of leading it.
A quick bit of history
The Planner's Vault was founded in 2020 as a membership community for wedding planners, and more than 400 planners have made it their home base for education, resources, templates, and community. When its founder, Megan Gillikin — someone I've admired, collaborated with, and cheered on for close to a decade — was ready for her own next chapter, she asked if I would take over.
My answer was a very sure yes.
Gina Johnston, who has been part of the Vault since the beginning and serves as our Director of Education & Community, is staying on — and together, we're building what comes next.
Two communities, becoming one
Here's the part that excites me most. Through Planner Life, I've spent more than 10 years teaching and coaching, led 11+ in-person workshops, and supported more than 4,500 planners. The Vault brings its own established, thriving membership.
Now, these two communities get to merge into one greater community — more planners to support, connect, and grow together. More experience in the room. More markets represented. More collective wisdom to lean on. Nothing you love about either community is going away; it's all becoming something bigger, together.
So, what actually is the Vault?
Think of it as your business's home base — the first place you turn when you need something. Where do I find that template? How do other planners handle this situation? What would you do here? It's all here, along with the people who can answer.
Every month inside the Vault, members receive:
A live webinar with a leading industry expert
A co-working / Ask Me Anything session with coaches and community
A brand-new education piece, resource, or tool added to the library
Plus the full template and resource library, available anytime — and real-time support from coaches and fellow members when a question pops up in your business that week. Not someday. That week.
The "what's next?" answer
At the end of every workshop I teach, after I've poured everything I can into the planners in the room, someone always asks: "Heather, what's next?"
For years, unless we continued into 1:1 coaching, I didn't have an answer that felt good enough. Now I do. The Vault is continued coaching, together — a place to keep asking questions, check in on what's working and what isn't, and keep growing long after the workshop ends. An ongoing relationship, not a one-time event.
Who is it for?
Every planner — and I mean that across the full range of this industry. Brand new planners are absolutely welcome; the foundations and templates here will serve you beautifully. And experienced planners: this room is exceptionally well suited for you. Seasoned, established, master-level planners will find conversations at their level, peers who understand exactly what they're carrying, and education that stays current — tech, trends, and the hot topics shaping where our industry is headed.
The culture is inviting and generous. No gatekeeping. No BS. Just planners who are seen, heard, supported, and valued — exactly where they are.
What's coming up inside
November: Design Month — design decks, layouts, and renderings with guest educator June AI
December: Reducing Your Systems & Overhead — where are you overpaying? Where can you trim back cost?
And in March, members gather in person at Lake Norman for our Workcation — because this community was never meant to live only on a screen.
Come be part of it
I'm still planning weddings. I'm still in this business, in it with you, every day. The Vault is simply the ongoing piece I always wished I could offer — and now I get to welcome you into it.
If you've ever learned with me, listened to the podcast, come to a workshop, or asked me "what's next?" — this is it.
